THE WHAT? Just Eat and Lush have announced a global partnership whereby the takeaway delivery service will offer the ethical cosmetics brand’s popular products to its customers in set markets.
THE DETAILS The partnership will make its debut in Germany with Lush’s bath bombs, body lotions and solid shampoos offered via the Lieferando website and app. More markets will follow in due course, Just Eat Takeaway.com said in a statement.
Couriers in Germany are employed, insured and receive holiday pay, the delivery firm was at pains to point out.
THE WHY? Quick and easy delivery for online shoppers has become a key marker of success for beauty brands since the surge in the digital channel precipitated by the pandemic. However, Lush’s ethical stance could prove problematic in certain markets where couriers are routinely employed on zero-hour contracts.
Sergio Mastrodonato, Lush Global Account Manager, commented, “We are thrilled to announce the kick off of our exciting partnership with Just Eat Takeaway.com in Germany, bringing fresh handmade Lush products directly to our customer’s doors. This partnership is just the beginning, as we anticipate exploring further expansion opportunities in the future to offer another great shopping experience and connect with Lush enthusiasts.”
