THE WHAT? L’Occitane Japan has announced Junko Koyama as its new President, who will report directly to Group Managing Director Sylvain Desjonquères.
THE DETAILS Previously holding the position of CEO and President of Ferragamo Japan, Koyama will also join the Group’s Executive Committee.
Succeeding Nicolas Geiger, son of Chairman Ronald Geiger, Koyama brings with her a wealth of expertise, having spent eight years at Estée Lauder understanding the Japanese beauty market, while previously holding leadership positions with LVMH, Cartier Japan and Procter & Gamble.
THE WHY? Discussing her appointment, Sylvain Desjonquères, L’Occitane Group Managing Director, spoke of the Group’s focus on ‘sustainable growth.’
He said, “Junko’s extensive expertise in leading global luxury and cosmetics brands in Japan makes her uniquely suited to take on this role. Junko will be instrumental in driving our strategy to support sustainable growth, despite the current crisis. Furthermore, her personal experience and background will be an invaluable addition to the Group’s Executive Leadership Team.”
