L’Oréal Malaysia creates Chief Digital Officer role as online shopping booms

THE WHAT? L’Oréal Malaysia has named Edward Ling to the newly created role of Chief Digital Officer, according to a report published by Marketing Interactive.

THE DETAILS Ling is charged with supporting e-commerce expansion, tailoring digital and media strategies and ad spends for the brand teams and mapping the consumer journey, according to Marketing Interactive, quoting his LinkedIn profile.

Ling joins the French beauty giant from Google where he held the role of Strategic Partner Manager, Indonesia and Malaysia.

THE WHY? With the pandemic showing no signs of slowing, e-commerce is booming leading many of the majors scrambling to recruit talent in this arena in order to maximise sales.
