AmorePacific builds on blue light theory with publication of SCI-grade research paper

THE WHAT? AmorePacific’s Anti-Pollution Research Center has developed the world’s first clinical evaluation method for blocking blue light from reaching the skin.

THE DETAILS The research paper was published in the August 18, 2020 issue of The Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology and details the harmful effects of blue light on the skin, the development of clinical devices and the verification of the efficacy of blocking agents.

Senior Researcher Cho Hong-ri has developed a device that can detect blue light wavelengths that are harmful to the skin and, using the device, AmorePacific R&D Center revealed that blue light with a wavelength of 456nm causes skin pigmentation.   

THE WHY? Thanks to its research, AmorePacific will be able to convince consumers that their various devices can damage skin and therefore market products to protect and counter that damage.
