THE WHAT? Procter & Gamble South Africa has teamed up with Pick N Pay to launch the new initiative Forests for Good.
THE DETAILS Together the organizations celebrated Mandela Day and planted 10 forests to help protect the planet and strengthen ecosystems across South Africa.
During the day learners helped plant and name trees, with events being streamed from P&G’s Facebook page.
THE WHY? The personal care giant stated that Mandela Day was a good opportunity for P&G and Pick N Pay to make a meaningful contribution to the community.
Cassie Jaganyi, Communications Leader for P&G sub-Sahara Africa, said, “As part of our 67 minutes for Madiba, P&G plans to plant 67 trees on the grounds of selected pre- and primary schools at various locations around Johannesburg.”
