THE WHAT? A medical researcher, sued by Johnson & Johnson after she published a 2019 study on the links between talc and cancer, has asked the federal judge presiding over the lawsuit to throw the case out.
THE DETAILS According to a report published by Reuters, the plaintiff, Dr Jacqueline Moline, was sued by LTL Management, a subsidiary of the baby powder manufacturer, in May.
THE WHY? The plaintiff alleges that the lawsuit amounted to intimidation and her research is not only sound but also protected by the First Amendment. Johnson & Johnson counters that its talc products are safe.
