Emami snaps up Reckitt’s Dermicool brand for Rs432 crore

THE WHAT? Emami has announced the acquisition of Dermicool from Reckitt Benckiser for Rs432 crore, according to a report published by the Business Standard.

THE DETAILS The purchase will be funded via internal accruals and is subject to regulatory approval. Dermicool is known for products designed to combat prickly heat.  

THE WHY? Emami Director, Harsha V Agarwal said in a statement, per The Business Standard, “We are very happy to announce the acquisition of Dermicool brand, which offers great synergy with our existing businesses and is a perfect strategic fit. It will strengthen our presence to make us #1 in the prickly heat powder and cool talc category.”
