THE DETAILS According to a report published by Reuters, quoting Bloomberg, the drugstore conglomerate is in early talks to separate off the Nottingham-based chain, and any deal could fetch up to £7 billion.

THE WHY? Walgreens Boots Alliance declined to comment when contacted by Reuters, but it’s likely that the pharmacy business is hoping to revive its plan to sell or spin off the Boots Business after it failed to find a bidder amid the financial turmoil bought on by the pandemic and its aftermath.
