Caudalie Cofounders take minority stake in Talm

THE WHAT? Caudalie Co-founders, Mathilde and Bertrand Thomas have been named as lead participants in a funding round by pregnancy-focused beauty brand, Talm, according to a report published by WWD. Terms of deal were not disclosed.

THE DETAILS The brand is poised to expand its product portfolio, entering into the facial skin care arena in the second half of this year as well as expand into new international markets.

THE WHY? Mathilde Thomas told WWD that Founder Kenza Keller’s passion and aesthetic sense, as well as the high-quality formulations and efficacy, inspired her to invest in the brand. Presumably the triple-digit sales growth was also a motivating factor. “This promising niche of pregnant women is underdeveloped,” Thomas told WWD. “Today, in this particular segment, only insufficiently clean and effective formulas exist.”
